Why We’re Using LNURL
From the best user experience to the most lightning-fast standards out there, this is why we’re using LNURL at NOAH.

At Noah, we place our community at the heart of the products and services that we build. Security and sovereignty balanced with utility, all wrapped into an experience that delights our community. So when we set out to build NOAH as a Lightning-first wallet, LNURL was the clear choice.
For a killer wallet experience, we wanted to build a fast, easy-to-use Bitcoin wallet able to handle payments, big and small, eliminating the tinkering and guess-work normally associated with the world of Bitcoin. LNURL implementation meets all of these criteria.
LNURL is a protocol that allows for easy communication between Lightning wallets, services, and applications. LNURL enables users to easily connect to Lightning Network services without having to go through complicated setup processes or node management.
The payments space is highly varied with a huge range of use cases and the early Basis of Lightning Technology (BOLT) standards placed emphasis on merchant payment processes. These standards were built with Satoshi's whitepaper in mind, but they neglect to consider your average individual. LNURL puts the emphasis back on the user, making it easy to just make payments, no matter if you're paying for your coffee, business expenses, or your friend's lunch.
Simplicity. Security. Sovereignty — all hallmarks of the LNURL protocol that make it the perfect fit for NOAH. LNURL allows us to give our users the best possible experience, and it's the ideal open standard that makes a no-brainer for us to integrate into our services.
