Cuneiform tablets, created in ancient Mesopotamia, are some of humanity’s first written records. Often serving as receipts for goods and services, these clay documents are the immutable ledgers of their time, revealing that the needs and desires that built blockchain have existed in our world far before the mythologised time of Noah and the Ark.
